The Pennsylvania Treasury estimates one in every 10 Pennsylvanians is owed unclaimed property by the state. Unclaimed property can include dormant bank accounts, abandoned stocks, uncashed checks and more. Property is always available for the rightful owner to claim. Tangible property may be auctioned after three years, but proceeds remain available to claim in perpetuity.

Ryncavage, Policy Committee Host Hearing on Democrat Education Funding Scheme

MOUNTAIN TOP—Last week, Rep. Alec Ryncavage (R-Luzerne) and the House Republican Policy Committee, led by Chairman Josh Kail (R-Beaver/Washington), convened a hearing at Crestwood High School to discuss the Democrats’ Basic Education Funding Commission (BEFC) report and how it fails to adequately support students and places an undue burden on citizens. House Bill 2370, the education funding plan that narrowly passed the House, also was discussed.

MOUNTAIN TOP – Residents of the Glen Summit community in Fairview Township have found themselves in a state of distress as they received notices from the Mountain Top Area Joint Sanitary Authority (MAJSA) mandating the replacement of their sewer laterals. These notices, which arrived last week, have sparked outrage among residents who are now facing the possibility of significant financial burdens and property damage.
