Ryncavage, Baker, Culver Announce More Than $2.9 Million Awarded to School Districts and Municipalities in Luzerne County
HARRISBURG – Rep. Alec Ryncavage (R-119), along with Sens. Lisa Baker (R-20) and Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-27), are announcing over $2.9 million in Local Share Account (LSA) grants and Public School Facility Improvement grants from the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA).
“These grant dollars mark a crucial advancement, as funding is secured to finish long-standing projects like the Glen Lyon Streetscape and to kick off new initiatives, including the Larksville Veteran’s Memorial Park,” Ryncavage said. “We're not just completing existing efforts but also building a foundation for a brighter future in our communities.”
Municipalities receiving funding include:
• Fairview Township: $242,000 to replace Dale Drive Bridge.
• Fairview Township: $300,000 to build an addition to its municipal and police building.
• Larksville Borough: $75,142 for a new Veteran’s Memorial Park.
• Crestwood Industrial Park: $750,000 for roadway improvements on Oak Hill Road.
• Newport Township: $261,191 for sidewalk improvements along Glen Lyon.
School districts receiving funding include:
• Crestwood School District: $1.3 million for a roof replacement project at Fairview Elementary School.
“As inflation continues to drive up costs making these projects unaffordable for our municipalities – even for the projects that were already in the works – I am committed to collaborating with our local officials to ensure we get these projects over the finish line for our residents.”
CFA is an independent agency that holds fiduciary responsibility over the funding of programs and investments in Pennsylvania’s economic growth.
