HARRISBURG – Rep. Alec Ryncavage (R-Luzerne) will be hosting a document shredder event on Saturday, June 3, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Crestwood Area High School, located at 281 S. Mountain Boulevard in Mountain Top.
This free event provides an opportunity for individuals to securely dispose of personal documents, such as bank statements, tax returns and other sensitive information that may put them at risk for identity theft.
"I am thrilled to offer this type of service to our community, and I am committed to providing helpful events like this in the future,” said Ryncavage. “Identity theft is a serious issue, and shredding personal documents is an important first step in protecting oneself from this type of crime.”
This will be a contact-free event. Participants are asked to stay in their vehicles while staff unload their items. The event is for residents only; no businesses, please.
Documents will be shredded on-site by Paper Eaters. Individuals can bring up to three paper-sized boxes of documents and are reminded to remove any metal fasteners and binder clips.
