I'm pleased to announce more than $1.7 million in grant awards for the 119th District! Working alongside Senator Lisa Baker and Senator Lynda Culver, we have secured a total of $1,702,309 to support a variety of essential projects across our communities.

These funds are set to drive significant improvements in public safety, infrastructure, and community amenities. Here are the local projects receiving this crucial funding:

  •   Ashley Borough: $95,000 for Centennial Park improvements.
  •   Edwardsville Borough: $75,000 for street repaving.
  •   Hanover Twp. Area Fire District: $500,000 for an aerial ladder truck
  •   Lower South Valley Council of Governments (Ashley, Hanover Twp, Nanticoke, Newport, Plymouth, Plymouth Twp, Sugar Notch): $100,000 for maintenance equipment.
  •   Nanticoke City: $37,190 for a feasibility study on the Nanticoke Firehouse.
  •   Newport Township: $125,000 to establish a new community park and playground in Glen Lyon.
  •   Plymouth Borough: $100,000 for a Main Street Revitalization plan picking up where their 2019 Visioning Process left off.
  •   Plymouth Public Library: $150,000 for building upgrades.
  •   Rice Township: $175,000 for upgrades to Rice Elementary School.
  •   Sugar Notch Borough: $95,119 for the construction of two storage buildings.
  •   Wright Township: $250,000 to purchase a new police vehicle and a multi-purpose DPW truck with a plow.

I am thrilled to announce initiatives that reinvest tax dollars directly into our backyard. With these grants, we are enhancing public safety, infrastructure, and improving the quality of life for our residents.

This substantial investment marks a pivotal step in our commitment to fostering stronger, safer, and more vibrant communities within the 119th District. Stay tuned for more updates as these projects get underway!
